EPRO for Ice Making
Face it … everyone wants clean, pure ice. They also want ice that lasts longer, tastes great and doesn’t spoil the ‘fiz’ in their drinks.
So, what makes great tasting ice …. NOTHING. And that’s just what water produced by Reverse Osmosis gives … water free of contaminants that alter the taste of your drink, or pick up the tastes from freezers.
RO water produces cleaner, clearer and better tasting ice cubes because most of the air bubbles are removed from the water. Air in ice causes a couple of effects …. it causes the ice to melt faster. A solid ice cube with no air bubbles can keep it’s low temperature longer.
Another effect of air in ice cubes is the additional fiz produced when a carbonated drink hits the cube, which can be pretty annoying if you’re in a hurry for that quench!
Depending on your particular ice maker, a small booster tank and pump may be (but not always) required. This is due to the pressure drop through the RO unit, which may not be high enough to service the ice machine, especially if it is a larger commercial type.
