Reverse Osmosis systems remove up to 99.8% of dissolved solids from the water by passing water through a semipermeable membrane under pressure. RO will remove most dissolved solids (ions) and other constituents that can give the cannabis plants the ability to uptake minerals from the water. The result is water that is very low in minerals and alkalinity.
